2008 Scholarship Luncheon

The theme of the Scholarship Luncheon of the Blue Ridge Community College Education Foundation was “Inspire by Example.” This annual event was held on Wednesday, September 17. It was, as always, a delightful and moving experience. Several of our members were privileged to attend; some enjoyed meeting students who are benefiting from the four scholarships we fund each year.
The first speaker was Linda Salido Troughton, who received scholarships in 1997 and 1998 and has become a sponsor herself. During her address, she mentioned that her first scholarship was donated by Lifelong Learning. Members in attendance were pleased by her expression of appreciation for our organization. Not only did Ms. Troughton recognize Lifelong Learning, she reminded the community of our gift to the College and its students.
