Join us for a special trip to both locations of The Mint Museums in Charlotte.

Mint Museum Uptown (opened in October 2010).

This museum is located in the new cultural campus in the heart of Charlotte’s business district. The Mint Museum Uptown showcases:

-Its American art collection, ranging from Colonial America to 21st century contemporary art;

-The Museum of Craft + Design, heralded as one of the foremost craft and design museums in the nation;

-A special exhibition from the Crystal Bridges Museum: State of the Art (Discovering American Art Now, an unprecedented nationwide survey of contemporary American art).

Mint Museum Randolph (formerly the Mint Museum of Art).

Housed in what was the first branch of the United States Mint, Mint Museum Randolph opened in 1936 as the first art museum in North Carolina and contains a permanent collection that includes:

-Art of the Ancient Americas, a wide ranging collection showcasing more than 2500 artworks from the Ancient Americas;

-Decorative Arts, a Ceramics Collection regarded as one of the best in the country.

This tour includes a one hour docent-led tour at each facility as well as time to explore on your own after each tour is completed. After our exploration of the Uptown Museum is complete, you will have time to have lunch on your own at one of the many eateries in the uptown area. We will then continue on to the Randolph Museum for our scheduled tour. When our time at the Randolph Museum is completed, we will board our motor coach and return to BRCC.
